About the Artist

Much of my art focuses on North American birds. My background in graphic design aids in simplifying birds down to their essence and unique personalities. These compositions are carefully planned in advance, often including a minimal background if any at all. This is a choice made to reflect their disappearing and changing habitats as a result of pollution and land development. These works, created with acrylic paint and collage techniques, are meant to be approachable and fun while calling attention to an issue we can all be considerate of.

In contrast, my circle paintings are not planned in advance. They are color and composition studies that happen on the fly. Each addition is based on what came before it, an ongoing cause and effect puzzle. Much like relationships and life, these pieces require careful decisions to create balance. Also crafted with acrylic paint, these works offer an abstract and curious result. I often find them thought-provoking as they allow the viewer to interpret them however they see fit.
